Doryun Chong:

Welcome to Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now.

This exhibition brings together works that Yayoi Kusama made over the course of more than seven decades. The show is organised around six themes: Infinity, Accumulation, Biocosmic, Radical Connectivity, Death and, the Force of Life. Throughout the exhibition you will see how Kusama’s personal experiences impacted her artmaking and how she was a pioneer in a field often dominated by men.

I’m Doryun Chong, the Deputy Director, Curatorial, and Chief Curator of M+.

Throughout this tour we will guide you to look more closely and slowly at some of the key works Kusama made in her long career. We share insights into her thought process and practice and discuss how art became for her a source of healing and transformation.
